Format:Kindle Edition
R.S. Charles has done a masterful job of producing a storyline in two volumes where characters soon endear themselves to the reader. Whispering Palms and Palms of Persuasion both take place on a private Caribbean island.
The cast of characters are just that, characters, but they are so real, the reader will either love or hate them as the story unfolds. But don't be too quick to hold your judgment secure, because as the story moves forward the reader learns that things are not always as they seem. The fact that the people, places and times are all fictional - oh dear, my world was shattered.
I was already caught up in their lives because the story is so believable. I say this to remind readers of this author's talent to create word-pictures that linger and play on the mind. As one approaches the final chapters in Palms of Persuasion the overarching thought is that the end is coming. How sad! There is something wonderful to be said about a book that you hate to see end because the story has so enthralled you.
I walk around during the day thinking about Raoul and Seb as if they are real. No other author has ever done that for me except Hemingway. R.S. Charles paints pictures with words. They are explosive renderings. I love them. And it just goes to show the beauty of words when they are well crafted. I wholeheartedly recommend this novel to any reader.
